Warm Welcome 2024

it was such a full circle moment to be able to help the incoming freshman’s move into their new homes!

1. This experience challenged my problem solving skills through trying to make sure that I efficiently and quickly helped incoming students move in while also being able to help with any other tasks needed of me.
2. This experience changed my perspective on my role within the community because many of the students I helped moved in were freshmen and I was able to answer any questions they had about college while we got them moved in and it helped me realize that I have the ability to help impact students the way I was impacted as a freshman.
3. During this service, I was able to meet different people from different organizations that also had the same major I had and we were able to bond over that.
4. My contribution in this service allowed me to help ease the transition for many people move in but additionally, help get students more excited to start back school.
5. In the future , I would have rather done different position when volunteering! I think I would’ve worked better as someone giving directions and interacting more with students rather than lifting heavy objects from the bins.
