Through this service experience, I developed stronger communication, teamwork, and customer-service skills by assisting incoming students and their families while helping them move into their dorms. This experience also improved my problem-solving abilities, as I had to quickly organize items, fill bins efficiently, and help students navigate their new living spaces. Being able to welcome new students and answer their questions changed my perspective on my role within the campus community, because I realized how much of an impact a friendly interaction can have on someone’s first impressions and sense of belonging. The connections I made with students and their families may influence my future involvement by motivating me to participate in more welcoming and outreach events, since I saw how meaningful these interactions can be. My service contributed to the organization's mission and goals by promoting a positive, supportive campus environment and helping new students feel comfortable, informed, and excited about their transition. In the future, I would improve my approach by next time volunteering at a dorm that I've stayed in so i can give better insight on my experience.

- I developed a stronger ability to pay close attention to detail because we were able to pick up trash on trails at the Wolf river conservancy.
- This experience showed me how often it is that people littered on trails regardless of trashcans being present.
- I participated in this event with friends and this made the event more enjoyable and fulfilling knowing that I was able to make a difference in the community while bonding with friends.
- The organization made sure we felt supported by giving us detailed instructions, gloves/trash bags, and offered us coffee and donuts as well!
- In the future, I would take advantage of the other activities that were present like using the paddle boat after doing the service event.
