Melba is such a sweet dog and we enjoyed spending the day with her! She is very friendly and loves meeting new people. She enjoys taking walks outside. Also, she likes car rides and looking out the window. Melba is very affectionate and loves being in someone’s lap. Lastly, she loves a good treat! It was such a nice day getting to know Melba!
This service was able to provide the opportunity of highlighting a dog within Memphis Animal Services. We are able to spend time with the dogs and allow them to experience fun outside the shelter. Then we are able to write about our time with the dogs and post pictures on social media in hopes to find their forever homes. The population that I served was an animal shelter and they were excited with having volunteers that wanted to give one of their dogs a special day. I was able to learn how opportunities like this are able to further advertise dogs that don't have a home. This volunteer opportunity really impacted me because I really enjoyed my time with Melba. I hope that my reflection of our time together will lead her to someone who will appreciate her personality. I do plan on continuing to volunteer with this community as I truly believe that my reflections will help find the perfect home for some of the dogs that I have encountered. I also enjoy getting to learn the personalities of the dogs that I spend the day with and being able to share what I have learned with the staff.

Levi is the goodest boy! He's got the mushiest, smoochiest face possible. He isn't the biggest fan of car rides and may whine to you about it but he enjoys walks and would be the perfect couch potato.
