This is for the social honors event I attended this semester. I went to the recess to meet some student leaders and learn more about open involvement applications. This was a really great experience, especially getting to talk to the VAC about Be B.O.L.D. and PAL programs and learning more about what those commitments involve!
This volunteer opportunity was given through Theta Tau Upsilon. Our amazing service chairs this semester organized a book drive for the Canopy Refugee Center. These books are for kids ranging from ages 1-18 and I had the amazing opportunity to donate 4 of my own books towards this cause. Lat semester as service chair, my co-chair and I organized this book drive for the first time, so it was amazing to see this book drive be continued this semester!
This volunteer opportunity was through Path Interview Weekend. One hour is for game night which was such a fun time getting to talk to and connect with potential Path scholars. We played human bingo, rock, paper, scissors, and a game of telephone. The second hour is for the lunch with the academic colleges. I had the amazing opportunity to answer questions prospective students and their parents had about the College of Engineering alongside Dr. Kevin Hall. Whether it was about the classes offered, or how the First-Year engineering program was structured, getting to answer these questions and highlight the amazing engineering program we have here at the University of Arkansas was very rewarding.
This was a great volunteer opportunity and I really enjoyed being able to come back this week! I was able to help bag cookies, hand out snacks to the kids, have a little reading session with a few of them, and even help one practice her trombone music! I love coming here and being able to help with these children!
This volunteer opportunity was through the Honors College Recess. As a Honors College Ambassador, I had a opportunity to set up and clean up after last week's Recess. I was charged with setting out the snacks and cleaning and returning the coffee cart. This was my first time doing this and I had a great time helping around the Honors College!
