I really enjoyed attending my first ASL Club Meeting. I learned how to sign my name as well as the basic communication that goes into asking someone what their name is. I'm excited to attend more meetings in the future.

I also performed the shoebox online test on my roommate. She enjoyed completing the test and seemed excited to get the opportunity to take this class next year as she is a junior in the major. I also showed her a few of the videos that were posted on Blackboard.
I performed an otoscope on my roommate. She is actually a junior majoring in Communication Sciences & Disorders, so it was cool to give her some insight on what she will be learning next year. I explained to her what we've learned this semester such as the structure of the ear, what a healthy ear looks like, and a basic run down of how to read a tympanogram. I also talked to her about ear candling and how it is not proved to be very helpful. It is ultimately better to consult an audiologist for any concerns you have regarding your ears and hearing.

I participated in the hearing screenings this morning at The New School. This was my first time being able to screen kids and I really enjoyed it. The process was very simple and I appreciated the hands on aspect of the task. Some kids had difficulty with focus and attention which resulted in them needed a bit more step by step interaction. We only had one child that we had to write down as a rescreen. I'm excited to be able to do this again soon!

I volunteered as a scorekeeper for all of the fraternity football games. I wasn't signed up to work on a spreadsheet, but Anna Giovannini knows I was there!
