MLK Day of Service

It was very fun. Glad that I did it. I was in one of the nine classrooms in the school and read to the young students.

This was a very eye-opening experience. It made me realize that there are so many women that are beat and abused every day. That is how they live their lives on the streets, and no one should ever be treated like that. It is amazing how much one card can affect their attitude and their day. I think I did a great service, and I felt like I really impacted my community. It also made me realize that I want to be more involved in my community. I get caught up in college life with classes, friends, sorority life, etc., and I do not give back enough to the community that gives me so much.

We had an amazing time with the animal shelter. We helped prepare newspapers to line cages and then walked and played with different dogs and cats in the shelter.
