Being able to volunteer at the Memphis Animal Service shelter was a great experience. We were able to receive the basic training skills needed to care for the dogs while we were there. We made and delivered the dogs treats and were able to play and interact with them. We were assigned one dog per pair and were able to take the dogs outside and play with them. Overall, the experience to help take care of the dogs who may not get to be cared for on a daily basis was great.

For this day of service, I went to Dorothy's Place, which is a day care center for people suffering with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. I helped with various activities throughout the day such as demonstrating different stretches, read trivia, called out bingo, and helped clean mats. I really enjoyed this experience, especially the trivia part as I was able to talk to different people and witness everyones different personalities and just have a good time.
