Service on Saturday

This was my first time volunteering with an animal shelter and I truly loved being able to do so. Everyone at Memphis Animal Services was very nice and all of the animals were so adorable and happy. There were a few cats in the room where my group had our orientation and they were very talkative which made the experience both adorable and slightly funny.
For this volunteer shift, my group had to separate into three small groups and we were each given a dog to take to the Humane Society's dog event that day. My small group was given a dog name Sabrina and even though she was quite shy at first, she was still very affectionate and absolutely loved receiving attention and resting her head on people's laps.
Overall, I absolutely loved this Service on Saturday shift and I definitely plan on going back and volunteering on my own time.

It felt great knowing that I helped on something that has history. It made me realized that volunteering can be about anything, I really enjoyed helping.

Serving in the St. Jude Garden was a fulfilling experience. I enjoyed learning and working witin the garden and serving with other wonderful volunteers.
