It was another fantastic day of move-in for new and returning Tigers to Rawls and Smith Hall. While many students came nervous, it was a pleasure to encourage them and suggest activities on campus to kick-off the start of another great academic year. As a grad student myself, and alumni of the University of Memphis, what Housing and Residence Life and Student Affairs are doing by improving the student experience, even down to move-in, is a great way to welcome new Tigers to their new homes.

This was my second time participating in the movers shift and the move in system was very organized. Although it did get backed up sometimes, everyone was very patient and found more ways to be even more efficient after the dilemmas. I made some new friends that I had just met the day before at the previous movers shift with the LLC. Once again, everyone was very welcoming and very helpful. I felt more confident and comfortable with those assisting. One of the most memorable things I will take from this experience is having the opportunity to be someone's relief. Moving in can be very chaotic and a massive change and step for some people, so allowing them to not have to worry about getting all their belongings to the right place is very comforting.
