1. My direct service benefits the members of Memphis by having a cleaner neighborhood and streets.
2. I served the South Memphis community. Everyone seemed very appreciative for picking up trash which most people would not do. My service will benefit the people from that area by having clean side walks and streets to walk on and enjoy being outside.
3. The service did align with my personal values because I believe littering is one of the worst things you can do and actively working in your city will make it better instead of leaving and not changing anything about it.
4. I learned that a lot of people from that community enjoy walking on the streets or sitting in their front porch which is why I think this act of service will definitely be enjoyed and appreciated by them.
5. I do plan on continuing volunteering with them because I love seeing the immediate impact I am doing as I am picking up every piece of trash and seeing a difference.

My service benefited members of the broader community by helping keep the community clean by picking up litter on the side of the road. My service benefited the communities around the Memphis Rox Climbing + Community, specifically the neighborhoods around that area. Their reaction to my group and me being there was extremely positive; several community members waved at us or thanked us for our service. I worked with a group during my service, and I honestly love this because it is good bonding time, and we all take turns holding the trash bag, maps, or trash grippers. This service impacted my emotions for that day; I always find myself happier after spending time outside and serving others. I plan to continue volunteering with this organization because it is fun and helps keep the Memphis community clean.
