About
Memphis Inner City Rugby (MICR) supports our alumni as they pursue higher education and career goals. This summer, one of our alumni — a rising college junior on the pre-med track — is preparing to begin studying for the MCAT and is seeking guidance from someone who has experience with the exam.
We are looking for a volunteer who can meet with her once this summer to:
- Explain the structure and format of the MCAT
- Share general preparation strategies
- Help her create a realistic summer study plan
- Point her toward free or low-cost study resources
This is not an in-depth tutoring role. We’re simply hoping to connect her with someone who can help her get started with confidence.
Time Commitment
- One meeting (approximately 60–90 minutes) - virtual or in-person at the MICR Office
- One brief intro call with a MICR staff member beforehand
- Optional follow-up if desired
Ideal Volunteers
- Pre-med students who have taken the MCAT
- Medical students or physicians
- Anyone familiar with MCAT preparation
This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact with a minimal time commitment while supporting a motivated first-generation student pursuing medicine.
Prior to meeting with the student, we will ask that you have a brief meeting with an MICR staff member to ensure this would be a good fit.
