Help a Pre-Med Student Start MCAT Prep!

Open Opportunity

About

Memphis Inner City Rugby (MICR) supports our alumni as they pursue higher education and career goals. This summer, one of our alumni — a rising college junior on the pre-med track — is preparing to begin studying for the MCAT and is seeking guidance from someone who has experience with the exam.

We are looking for a volunteer who can meet with her once this summer to:

  • Explain the structure and format of the MCAT
  • Share general preparation strategies
  • Help her create a realistic summer study plan
  • Point her toward free or low-cost study resources

This is not an in-depth tutoring role. We’re simply hoping to connect her with someone who can help her get started with confidence.

Time Commitment

  • One meeting (approximately 60–90 minutes) - virtual or in-person at the MICR Office
  • One brief intro call with a MICR staff member beforehand
  • Optional follow-up if desired

Ideal Volunteers

  • Pre-med students who have taken the MCAT
  • Medical students or physicians
  • Anyone familiar with MCAT preparation

This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact with a minimal time commitment while supporting a motivated first-generation student pursuing medicine.
