A great way to make some new friends!
So hot but rewarding!
Through this experience, I was able to develop my teamwork skills. Moving people in involved a lot of heavy lifting, direction, and involvement, which required everyone to do their part in order to be successful.
This service made me realize that I am not the new kid to campus anymore. There are a lot of new freshmen who are very nervous to be at college for the first time, and I can help them feel a little less nervous by giving them advice and reassurance by telling my own freshman year stories.
I was able to meet a lot of new people during my service. I met many new incoming students and also a few older students. I also met many students involved in Greek life, which helped me strengthen my bonds in the Greek community.
My service contributed to the mission and goals of the organization because we were able to move in a lot of students in the time frame that we had. In the time I served, I helped approximately fifteen new students move all of their things into the dorm.
During this service, I got very tired, hot, and worn out. There was a lot of heavy lifting in the summer heat. I was not expecting to be as tired as I was not even half-way through, but the organization was very helpful and encouraging and allowed me to take breaks when I needed to in order to recuperate.
