Community Clean-Up

This was my second time serving at Memphis Rox. I enjoyed going, it was easy and peaceful. My service helped the environment be more clean. It may have not been a lot, but I helped keep Memphis clean.
1. What did you learn about the community or environment you served?
-I learned that the environment there has a lot of potential and it just needs a little bit of cleaning. It was pretty peaceful walking around picking up trash. It was looking better already.
2. How did your service contribute to the overall mission or goals of the organization or cause you were working with?
- Memphis Rox is a place where people can clear their minds, a safe place. This organization seems to foster people of every background whether it’s race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background. This service that I did helped that environment feel cleaner and nicer for the people who seek peace at Memphis Rox.
3. What skills did you develop or improve through your direct service?
- I don’t think that I developed any skills but I think that this service opportunity improved my thought of continuing to serve. I am from Memphis and we all should do our part to keep Memphis clean.
