During this event I am continuing to serve the incoming freshman and their families as they move onto campus. Once again, the families were extremely grateful to have the move in help during this time. This event continues to warm my heart. I love meeting new people and helping others. It was another hot and hard working day but I’m glad I was able to help people. The families were very grateful today and needed the smile. Today I learned the value of hard work. I found myself getting frustrated at people who chose to sit and stare at others working very hard. I am grateful for the people who worked hard and recognize that the event would not have gone as smoothly if they were not willing to put in the effort. There were clear explanations of our duties to help families and how to hand out carts, dollys, etc. I found that working with the weeks of welcome program helped align with my goals and values of giving people space to be recognized, seen, and heard, as well as creating a welcoming and positive enviroment.
Was not given specific directions but overall it was good!
Good
Great experience getting to meet students from all over the country! Met someone from Washington state moving in!
