This experience is one to remember. How much trash there was around the city is a sad thing to see. I spent my time picking up and logging trash into an app. There where about a hundred of us out their cleaning up our community.

We met at the University for lunch and a message from international paper on recycling. We then went to our different locations to do service with our group. I give this event a 3 star because no one else from our group, except 3 people from IP, showed up to serve. There was no site leader and the park we needed to clean was fenced off. So, we just walked around cleaning up the streets. I feel that this could’ve had better organization and been much more productive.

It was a rather good event as it allowed me to network with International Paper, while also improving the campus garden.

This experience was great. We spent our time picking up trash along the street that people had just thrown to the streets. While we were picking up trash, we had some people say thank you and you could see that they appreciated what we were doing. It felt good to help my community in a way that you could see the change right away. And the people I met while doing it made the experience even better.
