It was great to help a part of Memphis that needs support. The staff was organized and made everything go smoothly. I loved being able to directly help people with food insecurity by signing people up for government benefits, giving out boxes of food, and explaining how they can receive more help such as directing them to local food banks and events for single mothers. During this event I learned how to empathize with others and learned to take time and patience with each individual car to make sure they received the food, benefits, and help that they needed.
Was exciting to serve back in person again. Handed out so many boxes of food. Met some new students.
Being able to help the community is simply an amazing time. Everyone we came in contact with was so appreciative and happy to see us handing out food and other items. I truly felt the Memphis spirit out there with the people in our community.
