Every Monday night at 5:30pm we host volunteers at both of our Dorothy Day House locations for a Community Meal.
The volunteers supply a simple dinner for our residents and join them and a staff member for a meal. Typically volunteers prepare the food in advance and it's ready to be served when they arrive. If your meal would need to be heated up that is no problem, just let us know in advance. A simple, kid-friendly meal works best here at DDH. People typically bring pasta bakes, hamburgers, pot roast, taco bars, pizza, etc. Beverages (we have water) and desserts are not necessary unless you feel inclined. We provide all of the plates/silverware/cups/napkins/etc.
Once you sign yourself, your family, or your group up for a Monday Night Meal, we will need to approve you request. Once we approve your request you will receive a confirmation email. Please keep groups under 10 people.
A week before the event you will receive an email letting you know how many people are living in the home and if their are any allergies so you can plan the menu accordingly.
