I have continued to throughly enjoy my time at Genesis Actions and Truth center in volunteering with the homeless. Not only have I been able to continue to build relationships with the people we serve, but also the people who volunteer and are apart of the church. This has continued to be a place where I am able to witness, pray for a encourage the people coming in. I typically write down names and what people are struggling with or what they need prayer for in addition to praying for them in the moment. What these people need is not only physical tangeable help, but also emotional and spiritual encouragement. Hope is what I have found lies at the Actions and Truth center in many ways. Even if it is just giving someone the hair tie off my wrist it brings hope. This place has also given me the ability to continue to see if ministry/missions is where the Lord wants me or to continue to pursue a career as a Child Life Specialist. I will continue to serve here even next year and also possibly look into places at home in Dallas to serve the homeless as my heart has really been pulled toward serving this community.

I served for 6 Sundays throughout this semester thus far in fayett kids!!
I have gotten to serve 5 different Wednesdays for 2.5 hours each and I have thoroughly enjoyed this time. I will continue to be apart of this ministry even after this class is finished. Each of the days I got to serve, I walked people around the shelter to pick out food in the market, pick out clothes, and get to know the lives of the people that frequent the program. I have gotten to know the other volunteers personally and formed relationships that will benefit my future and also add older generations to my life as a college student. My favorite moments have been when I have gotten to pray with people or they have opended up about what they are going through and I have gotten to witness to them or speak life over them. This time of serving on my Wednesday afternoons is truly one that I look forward to as it allows me to be the hands and feet in the community I am in.
I work with the kids at the 9am service on Sundays. I absolutely adore this and they bring me so much joy.
These are 2 hours for my meeting as well as video training to work with the kids. I met with Kati on the 25th for about an hour to discuss volunteering, and then worked on the training videos until the week that I started working with the kids.
I spent a total of 10 hours preparing for this trip during meetings for this mission trip, as well as preping my house to be used as housing for the group before we left. I went to a total of 4 meetings 3 being around 3 hours and 1 being around 1 hour.
I actually really enjoyed writing a letter for someone currently serving overseas, because I felt like I could be encouraging to someone who needs it most and that is what makes me feel like I have purpose to encourage people.
This was my second time volunteering at Potters house. I enjoyed spending time with friends as well as organizing the store.
