This summer I had the opportunity to continue my volunteering at ACNW! I am stationed in the emergency department and log patients as they come into the ED and I check in on them for any thing they may need. I also stock the closets with fresh sheets, towels, and wash cloths!
I volunteer in the ED at Arkansas Children's Northwest once a week. I enjoy checking in on patients and helping the nurses. I am able to observe healthcare teamwork and understand all aspects of patient care. I truly love volunteering here!
I volunteered at the M&N Augustine Foundation with Path scholars. I cut different desserts and put them on plates for others to pass out. I enjoyed volunteering with other Path scholars and getting to serve!
I donated 100 cans (10 hours) to the Fayetteville Salvation Army Canned Food drive. I was able to help fill their pantry for when they serve meals during the holidays!
I made holiday cards to donate to the Cancer Support Home at Washington Regional Hospital. I enjoyed coming to this event with friends and creating cards to spread holiday cheer.
I attended the Days for Girls x Women in Medicine event and helped make menstrual kits for young girls. I was in the station that cut fabric for the kits. I enjoyed learning about the Days for Girls club mission and I appreciate what they do for girls all over the world. I had so much fun!
I attended the Pre-Med Basics Workshop! I was given recommended classes to take as a pre-med student and I was given information about the MCAT. I enjoyed attending this workshop and it made me feel less nervous!
I was in the clean up group for Path Interview Weekend. I packed and put away food. I also moved furniture back. I later attended game night and enjoyed meeting potential Path Scholars!
I volunteered at Arkansas Children's North West Hospital in Springdale, Arkansas. I volunteered in the emergency department and checked in on patients to check if they need a snack or blanket. I did 3 hour shifts once a week from this timeline
I volunteer in the ED at the Arkansas Children's NWA campus. I restock linens and snacks. I also visit with patients and chart who comes into the ED. I enjoy visiting with the patients and making their stay as comfortable as possible!
