An academic recess time where I was able to ask the librarian on how to submit my honors thesis to scholars works. I finished my thesis last semester, but I put off submitting it because I thought it would be difficult to do. Turns out, it was an easy and interesting process and I am so glad that the library staff helped me complete my final step for my honors thesis.
I went to the Honors Recess Spring Fling and had such a great time! I got to reconnect with a friend I hadn't talked to in a while, which was really nice. The Honors College did a fantastic job putting it all together. They had sweets and games that made for a good break from my upcoming final projects.
For Spring Break, I had the opportunity through the University of Arkansas Baptist Collegiate Ministry to help an outside community with free shuttle rides by handing out bus cards, coordinating rides, and assisting in navigation for our drivers from 9pm to 2am each night. Panama City Beach was able to stay safe and efficient due to our shuttles during Spring Break!
For one of my honors events, I went to an honors academic event on "How to Find a Research Topic" for more information on how to start and write honors thesis and if I am going in the right direction. I was given amazing insights on how narrow or broad my topic needs to be and if my topic has enough information to make my honors thesis.
I volunteered at Cardinal Night as one of the hosts for the attractions during Family Weekend. I instructed people to get inside of a blown-up box where they could catch as much money as possible in 30 seconds. Eventually, I would count the money and give them tickets based on their performance that would later be used for the prize raffle at the end of the night.
I volunteered for HC Coffee Cart @ First Friday for Hispanic Heritage Month. I handed out popular Hispanic drinks and snacks for everyone, while enjoying the various kinds of dancing music provided by the Multicultural Center.
I volunteered to help at Cardinal Night, where I hosted human bowling for one of our attractions. It was very interesting strapping people in a metal cage, where I proceeded to roll them into giant pins. Thankfully, I got several strikes that night, where the people I bowled also had lots of fun!
I went to the Honors Hotz Back to School Ice Cream Social as one of my honors events. I mingled with new students and Honors College staff, while enjoying mint chocolate chip ice cream.
I love volunteering at The Salvation Army Thrift Store! I usually just put clothes where they need to be from the new racks and organize the clothes. One of the best ways to get volunteer hours and have fun!
