For my last two hours I spent time developing a T-Shirt design for this summer camp. I messaged a lot between the program director about the specifications of the T-shirt printer and what they were looking for. I really enjoyed getting to do this for my hours, I love graphic design and I’m excited to see my design being printed on a physical product.
I’m planning on working with this program and designing a t-shirt for them but last Thursday I proof read and edited their catalogue before they released it to the public. I loved getting to help with this project, I’m getting a minor in journalism and I’m very interested in digital design so this is a perfect service opportunity for me!
I appreciate the opportunity to do other things for service hours than volunteering, each year my schedule just gets busier and busier and I haven’t been able to volunteer yet this year and we’re already half way through the semester.
I liked having the opportunity to speak up and give my opinion as a student in what could improve. I didn’t receive a link with my registration so I’m writing my response here:
I think Arkansas is great about providing resources for students, especially for their physical and mental well being. There are so many tutoring services and professional readiness assistance through the CORD. I think they could improve in regards to advertising the DEI events that are held on campus, recently there’s been many hosted by Alpna Kappa Alpha, and some for women’s history month, that aren’t made aware to the student body in the same way career fairs and RSO’s are.
