Spending time showing Ka’Money all my favorite places in NWA has been a blessing!
It feels great to provide a safe space for Ka'Money to share about his life. His mom has appreciated how consistent I am and has worked with me as a team to encourage Ka'Money to be himself and care for others. She needs support so I am lucky to have this opportunity until I graduate in May.
Being an off-site mentor for Ka’Money through BBBS has allowed me to put myself second. I appreciate the opportunity to serve my community through understanding the true barriers this family faces first hand. I want to continue to help his mom take care of the family as much as I can without making my return to Texas following graduation unbearable. I’ve got into a rhythm meeting with Ka’Money Tuesday’s or Wednesday’s for a couple hours and will begin to also eat lunch with him once every couple weeks.
I am grateful to be a light in Ka’Money & his family’s lives a few hours once a week. This is a strong start to a prosperous relationship where I can help as much as they’re open to.
This has been an incredible experience to volunteer in my community. I had the opportunity to be a light in the lives of a 1st grader Kamoney and the teachers that need the help.
Great first time giving blood!
Meeting weekly with Kamoney, a second grader at Leverette Elementary School, has been incredibly fruitful to both of our lives. I am providing a stable figure in Kamoney's life by always being there if he needs to talk or even a pick me up after a bad day. I have enjoyed getting to know a wonderfully kind kid through this opportunity to serve the BBBS community.
Great opportunity to help the community.
