Today I was in charge of a couple different jobs. First, I worked on hanging and organizing the Christmas items. I hung them based on the type of clothing, sweaters, pajamas, shirts, skirts, etc. Then I tagged shoes for the sorority event, and placed them on the floor according to size. Finally, I helped tag and steam clothes for the sorority event in order to they could get out the floor as fast as possible.

Today I got to do something new and different! I helped go through shoes that were donated. We organized them by size, prize, and season. I researched each pair of shoes brand and how much they normally sell for in order to give them an accurate price. Any shoes that were in poor condition, we put in a bag to donate to potters house. Also, if there were any flip flips or summer shoes, we put them off in a different box for summer.
I steamed a lot of clothes and got them ready to go out on the floor. I also got to see the new app.
Today I broke down a pile of boxes for them. I also tagged a lot of clothes, including $3,$5,$7, and $10 items. Then hung them up according to size to be steamed.
It was my first time back since the pandemic and I tagged some clothes and helped put together some bags for people to make donations.
My friend and I went to Beautiful Lives Boutique and steamed clothes and got them ready to be put on the floor of the store.
This was the second time I volunteered here and I've had a great time every time. I tagged a lot of clothes, and helped design some parts of the store. My friend and I picked out jewelry to put on the displays and mannequins. We also pulled cute springy dresses for the Instagram room.
On Thanksgiving morning I volunteered at The Brass Rail. We delivered Thanksgiving meals to needy families in the St Louis area. We delivered these meals all around areas including St. Charles and St. Louis City. The big bags included Thanksgiving dinner, along with hats, gloves, and scarves for the number of people in each household. The winter clothes were to help keep them warm during the upcoming cold season. Everyone I encountered was very friendly and extremely thankful for what we brought them. Brass Rail's goal was to serve 10,000 needy families, and they actually served 11,381 families. I'm so happy I was able to help and be a part of this experience. I look forward to helping next year.
I went to Beautiful Lives Boutique and tagged and steamed clothes from 10:30 am to 12 pm on Saturday, November 23rd. I tagged clothes that had prices of $3, $5, or $7, and steamed mainly tops and dress shirts. I had a lot of fun and will definitely be coming back to volunteer more.
We went to Walker Park with a friend to pick up trash along the trails. I wanted to volunteer here because I love walking on trails and exploring nature. There was a lot more trash than I expected there to be. There were a lot of bottles and cans. Most of the trash we found was a little off the trail, in the bushes. I learned from one of the organizers that some of that trash that ends up near the trails comes from trucks driving by. I would definitely participate in this activity again.
