I volunteered at my church during Christmas time to collect gifts from the giving tree. We sorted the gifts by gender, age, and interests and took them to our local shelter. It was amazing getting to feel like you are making a change and giving back during Christmas time to those who truly need it.

Every year our church does a holiday takedown and begins decorating for Christmas. This year I assisted the teachers by decorating the boards around our parish in an holiday-themed display. We took down all the previous displays and revamped them for the seasons.
During the month of October, Kansas City Parks and Rec hosts an event every Sunday morning during the month. The event is put on to get individuals active in the community and experience their city and all it has to offer. My mom and I volunteered for the opening walk of the season where we passed out water, held mile markers, and gave award badges at the end of the walk for all the individuals. In addition, we assisted in cleaning up and taking down the event.
I attended pink pancake along with bringing friends with me to enjoy the experience. We used the money we raised to support our philanthropy of breast cancer awareness and education. The pancakes were yummy and went to a good cause.
My family and I have volunteered after Easter mass to clean up the decorations and put out the normal church service decor for over 4 years. We box up all Easter related decorations and put them in storage then redecorate for the next church service and season. I enjoy helping my parents and the church with this because it gets me involved in my church even though I have not been there since being at school and you get to kind of be creative with the decorations that everyone will see.
I helped with the flow of traffic during and after the parade. The man in charge was very friendly and helpful throughout the whole experience!
I signed up for this through daily so I don't have anyone to write down for the point of contact. I volunteered with Ashlyn and Hanna who are both freshmen as well. We checked people in and handed out gift bags and shirts at the end.
