I performed three otoscopies and 2 OAEs on the University of Arkansas marching band members at Epley Center for Health Professions. Each participant was first asked to read and sign a consent form. One band member informed me that she has otosclerosis in one ear, and I did not perform an OAE on her. Dr. Gilbertson had received her medical information within the previous week. Dr. Gilbertson also instructed me on how to pair hearing aids with a television streamer for a future assignment.

I performed otoscopies and OAEs on the University of Arkansas marching band members at Epley Center for Health Professions. Each participant was first asked to read and sign a consent form. After performing the otoscopies, all of the band members I worked with were able to go on with the next part of the research testing. They displayed no physical ear problems or excessive wax. After looking into each participant's ears, I performed an Otoacoustic Emissions test and printed the results.
I performed 8 more tympanometry tests on University of Arkansas band members. I performed these tests without assistance, and all of the participants I tested were type A. Between tests, Dr. Gilbertson showed me how to prepare participants for an Otoacoustic Emissions test. I was shown how to do this once and completed it on my own once.
In participating in this research I learned to complete a video-otoscopy and a tympanometry test. I performed these tests on members of the University of Arkansas band and recorded their results.
This time is logged for an over-the-phone inquiry into a partnership with iCAN. This phone call was with the program director, Rick Anderson. We discussed filming tutorial videos for iCAN assistive listening devices. Mr. Anderson expressed that he would be happy to partner with Dr. Gilbertson and me, and he suggested that I create an iCAN account and request devices for loan.
I assisted Dr. Gilbertson in completed hearing screenings at Prism Education Center on elementary and middles school-age children.
