so much fun!!!!
I posted the Band-Aid research video on my Facebook as well as sent it in a GroupMe with some girls in my community. This experience was helpful because I got some activity with messages and questions by those who watched the video.
I was able to perform otoscopy on my three roommates using my otoscope to examine inside their ears. I was able to observe and see their tympanic membrane as well as see normal ear wax for each of them.
Observed SLPs and OTs at SPOT kids therapy in Springdale, Arkansas. Observing at SPOT opened my eyes to how closely SLPs and OTs can work together and how important it is to work together. Over the course of the month I observed I was able to observe 4 therapists and learn different techniques from each session.
I volunteered 1-2 times a month with New Heights disability ministries on Sunday mornings. This experience was very impactful for me and eye-opening. I was led by the disabilities pastor and it was so helpful to watch her interactions with the students and seek advice and counsel. Spending time with these students this semester has changed my perspective and I look forward to using it in therapy.
I loved getting to observe in a private clinic. I had never experienced that environment so I enjoyed the exposure. I also was able to observe longer sessions as well as sessions with younger children. It was very helpful getting to observe these SLPs and their techniques with the younger children.
