I did not register to vote until this past year. I felt I was not ready at the age of 18. Even though I am a legal adult according the United States goverment, I felt I was not ready to help make choices on who was going to govern our country. So when I decided to register, I spoke with my family and they assisted on the process. My mother gave me a website to print out the documents that were needed for our county. After filling them out I still had a gout feeling, was I really ready. Well 2020 we needed to vote for the next president and I did want to make my vote count. So I filled out the forms and put them in the mail to county representative that registers everyone for Little River County. It took a few weeks and I received a voters registration card, that allows me to vote in my county. I did not realize it could be that easy. Now I have the power to make choice for years to come. I want to have a voice not only for my self but as well for my children in the future. Researching the politicians was very difficult task this election. I was not registered as a Democrat or Republican as I went undecided. I wanted to vote for the best candidate not matter what the party was. And in my own choice I will get to decide that from this point forward. And now I have a right to gripe about who is president or who is not because I helped vote this election and will continue to do so in future elections, weather they are for Federal, State or local elections. As this is my American right!

I realize writing a card is not much to contribute to covid-19, however I wanted to do something to brighten up someone's day. I wish I was able to do more but during quarantine, you can't really volunteer in person anymore.
As everyone knows this election this year was a very difficult one to decide on a canidate. After months of research and talking with my parents I made my choice. I had originally decided to vote absentee due to me not living in my home town where I was registered to vote. However, my ballot did not arrive. So I made the four hour long drive home to Ashdown Arkansas, to cast my vote. With this being my first time I was unsure of the voting centers rules and regulations, so I went with my dad to the voting center. Once we arived we were greeted by a poling representative who asked us several questions regarding the COVID protocol, as we all know the pain that is. After passing the the COVID test, we were allowed to enter the building. We were asked for our pohoto Identification and were handed a stylus to vote with. While staring at the voting screen I could not find the candidate that I wanted to vote for at first. Once I had passed that step I felt a little easier. I moved on to voting in the state representative section, as I wanted my favorite person who has done alot for our district Mrs. DeAnn Vaught to win, which she did. I moved on to voting in our local election for city council for my ward. Little to my surprise one of my high school class mates was running for my ward. No I did not vote for him as I know he does not know anything about being on a city council. I later found our he actually tied with the other city council that was running and they are currently in a run off for that position. I did not vote for anything else that was listed as I had not researched nothing they were trying to pass.
