I had the opportunity to volunteer as an event assistant during the festival at the Bobby Lanier Farm Park, and I am grateful to have been part of such a vibrant community tradition. From assisting with guest check-in and managing children's activity stations to helping families navigate the grounds, this event highlighted the importance of community engagement, collaboration, and public stewardship. Working alongside fellow volunteers and park staff toward a shared goal reminded me that meaningful local impact happens when individuals come together to support sustainable education and shared public spaces. I am thankful for the opportunity to strengthen my communication, teamwork, and leadership skills while giving back to the Germantown community. Experiences like this continue to reinforce the value of civic participation and working collectively to foster a connected, welcoming environment for all ages.

Everybody was nice. We requested to do anything but bouncy houses, and the lady was very accommodating. The pumpkin patch was well stocked and when it was needed, more tables were brought out. Overall a great volunteering experience.
