Working behind the scenes at Thistle & Bee gave me a practical look at inventory management and logistics. By organizing shipping supplies and moving products like honey and tea, I realized I enjoy the "flow" of business operations, which has sparked a new interest in how supply chains function efficiently. This hands-on transition from heavy labor to strategic organization helped me see how maximizing small storage directly affects a company's ability to meet customer demands and grow its impact. I learned that for a mission-driven organization to succeed, the "behind-the-scenes" environment must be highly disciplined. While the public sees the honey and gummies, the storage and shipping areas are the real engine of the operation. I worked as part of a team alongside Autumn; splitting into groups allowed us to be more productive. Coordinating with her made the heavy lifting easier and safer, especially when navigating crates and shelving up the stairs. My service directly improved the store's operational efficiency, clearing the way for staff to fulfill orders that support the women Thistle & Bee serves. The main challenge was the physical space constraints of the upstairs storage. I overcame this by communicating constantly with my team to solve the "puzzle" of where to place heavy items for the best future access.
