Through my service experience at Youth Villages Soup Sunday, I developed and improved several skills, including communication, teamwork, and time management. As a food runner, I had to quickly deliver items and respond to requests, which helped me learn how to stay organized and work efficiently in a busy environment. I learned that the community really supports programs that help young people, and events like this bring many people together for a good cause. It showed me how important community involvement is in supporting organizations that help families and youth. I worked as part of a team with multiple food runners, which made the experience more organized and enjoyable. Working together allowed us to help each other when things got busy and made sure guests were served quickly. The organization supported volunteers well. Whenever I was confused or couldn’t find something, there were always staff members or other volunteers available to guide me and answer questions. This service aligned with my personal values because I believe in helping others and supporting programs that make a positive impact in the community. Being able to contribute to an event that raises money to support youth programs made the experience meaningful to me.
