The director over the pantry, Mr. Antonio was very nice and allowed you to work without micromanaging.
Volunteering at Food Pantry Friend was an experience that truly challenged my problem-solving abilities in unexpected ways. I had to think on my feet to redistribute items effectively, all while keeping the space clean and accessible. Through this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of the social issues surrounding food insecurity. I worked both individually and as part of a team. Working alone helped quickly organize shelves. Teamwork allowed us to work more efficiently and quickly pack bags. The organization provided clear guidance and support throughout my service. They ensured that volunteers knew their roles and helped when we had any questions or did new tasks. My service strongly aligned with my personal values, more specifically the importance of compassion and community.
