I really enjoyed helping out and getting involved! I experienced getting to know others, working with others to help draw, paint, and sketch. It really improved my people skills and I developed the skills to work with all types of people. I learned that the community around me is very supportive and up lifting. We made all different types of signs to uplift the runners that were racing for reconciliation. I worked individually and as a team during this event. It impacted my experience by showing me how easy it is for many different people to put ideas together to come up with something great. I do plan on continuing to volunteer with this organization because they were extremely nice and very welcoming from the second I walked through the doors at the event. This service did align with my personal values, because we were being good people with good hearts making signs and posters for the runners, and one value I cherish is being kind and up lifting. I would change my approach of being scared to come to the events, because they are so fun and all for a good cause.
