It was a great experience
It was an amazing experience to interact with the community, as well as partake in creating art and being in tune with nature at the festival.
How did your direct service benefit members of the broader community?
I assisted the plant buyers by taking their plants to check out and then taking it to their cars.
Which population(s) did you serve?
We served the elderly and Lichterman Nature Center.
What was their reaction to you/your group being there?
A lot of the customers, dare I say all, were older and many of them voiced how our assistance was a big help for them.
What impact do you think your service had on you personally?
It was a good experience that allowed me to take out time to be with nature and bond with strangers. This was a very wholesome experience.
Did you work individually or as part of a team during your service? How did that
impact your experience?
I worked with a team, luckily, and it allowed me to assist the elderly. Some of the group only sorted through different bins and flowerpots. I did that at first, until customers started coming and I was able to help them take things to checkout and their car.
What did you learn about the community or environment you served?
I learned some about plants because I took lots of pictures of the plants and iPhone has a feature that teaches you about the plants. So, I learned about the plants after the event.
This was a great experience.
This was a great site , I loved providing a service for nature.
we were only required to inform people about the different projects around the venue vicinity. it was nice seeing all the creativity from people around the community.
