Great experience. I do wish I'd known the need for translators (English to Spanish), but all in all, it was a good clinic experience.
I really loved the opportunity to learn in this capacity and be involved in such a key part of the citizenship process
Great event with lots of volunteers that showed up! The organizer of the event did a great job making sure law students were able to ask questions from attorneys about the process and learn along the way.
I really enjoyed this clinic. I think that the process could have been expedited by having a Spanish version of the application available for non-Spanish speaking clerks to refer clients to.
Over the course of the day we were able to complete around 75 applications. It was a fantastic experience that really helped the community.
Great opportunity to serve. Very well organized.
I think it was very fun! I love being handson.
Being able to work with attorneys on complex issues was very beneficial and very educational.
I also loved being able to get the training to be able to participate in events like this in the future. It was obvious that everyone was very passionate about the work that was being done.
However, as someone who is not bilingual, it was very difficult to find translators to help families and individuals who did not speak English. I felt like I could have been much more helpful if I either spoke the language myself, or could more readily work with someone who did.
A wonderful experience! We conversed with people of the Northwest Arkansas Community, along with the Chief Staff, Corporal, and Senior Advisor of the Office of Citizenship, Partnership, and Engagement for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. I drafted applications and prepared documents to make it easier for people to file. Ultimately, I highly recommend because this work is very fulfilling and you see an immediate impact. A few people said that we were doing God's work. Note: this time includes the 4 hour CLE training and the 8.5 hours at the clinic.
