Grace was so happy to participate this volunteer work-MLK Day of Service with other big brothers and sisters at Shelby Farms Park. This activity was to help minimize the invasive species Chinese Privet and promote biodiversity for native plants. And the volunteers have to help with getting rid of wooded areas of Chinese Privet, digging up roots balls and piling up the cuttings for future disposal. They all attended this event on time even though it was heavily raining at the beginning of the event, and it was also raining a bit now and then during the event. Everybody was so passionately locating those Chinese Privet and removing them using the big pliers. And some of participants just pulled the deep roots together, it was really like a tug of war between the nature and humankind. No matter how much dirt they got on their shoes, pants and even jackets, they just enjoyed doing their own job and tried to do their best. Participants were enjoying this activity since they can meet with their friends and do the volunteering work together and enjoying the fun and friendship. This kind of volunteering work should be promoted well in our society. Everyone has to utilize their time, energy, and time and efforts to make our community more loveable and enjoyable. Grace did a great job with other participants.
