Wonderful opportunity to serve at the Historic Lorraine Motel in the city in which I have lived all my life! To be in the presence of other like minded individuals was inspiring. I was compelled to purchase a family membership and that in itself was well worth the experience. I served outdoors at the VIP/Membership tent. My personal feedback is as follows:
1. More custom signage would be helpful to identify all stations plus to assist with logistical navigation throughout the parking lot area.
2. Logistical maps at every station, tent, etc would be great! Need to direct guest when asked.
3. Printed schedule of planned events would be beneficial while serving since many visitors inquire.
4. Our membership station could have benefitted from being stocked with hand sanitizer, garbage cans/bags, paper towels, clorox wipes, masks, gloves, 2 clip boards, few paper clips, 2 large manilla envelopes, tape, table tent card/signage, two way radios to effectively communicate amongst each other, 2 ipads, etc.
5. Our station could have also benefitted from having Membership/Museum info QR codes on some type of hard stock card. Overall museum info flyer cards and info regarding benefits of becoming a member. Paddle signs with QR code and logo to present guest in the wait line for membership sign up opportunities, etc.
6. General info flyers about The Museum, Membership and perks
7. Consider perks for sanitation workers
8. Provide SOP/instructional handbook for easier flow and maintenance of volunteers plus for effective
information dissemination. We want to always look as if were thoroughly informed.
9. All items should be in place PRIOR to volunteer arrival.
10. Sticker type name tags would eliminate the need to call each other by "HEY, excuse me, can you.......!"
11. Tables at each station should have fitted linen as to not cause unwarranted falls/injuries.
12. Bell or horn for "First Time New Memberships"!
13. Step and repeat color markers on the pavement and flashlight wands for directional usage when line has to be divided, stopped or split up at the intersection.
14. Performers scheduled for patio tent could use a holding room/tent upon arrival to prepare. Many arrived at the same time with no where to immediately go sit, meditate, reflect and prepare.
15. Museum store very cluttered and overwhelming with such large crowds attempting to flow through. WC/Scooter navigation inside store area was very difficult.
16. A few more VIP snacks would be helpful. We were out of snacks by 2pm. I was able to go inside and get a few more.
Enjoy the day
