I stayed until 1 to help clean up. I felt as if this event was a little chaotic and not very well organized. I was assigned to work at the water station, but when I arrived (promptly at 8 for my shift) I was told there was no way to get me to the water station and then assigned another task. Overall, everyone was very kind and I had fun, but it was not very well organized.
Great event. I feel like there’re room for improvement when it comes to organization.
Few suggestions:
1. Have team lead for every stations, who is responsible for organizing and running the station.
2. Have a separate volunteer check in.
3. Create more directional signs.
4. Have volunteer team meeting the night before; so they know what to do the next morning.
Wonderful park! Really enjoy coming here and helping out. Great way to help the environment and support the parks!
