I helped package pantry bags and filled shopping carts full of food for members of the community who were eligible to receive them. It was a joy to be able to serve at LifeSource today.

This morning I went to volunteer at LifeSource. They are preparing for a move, camp, and still providing different services for people all at the same time. This made me glad to be able to help in some way. I fixed and organized some of their craft supplies that they use during camp while I was there. Feeling as though I was able to help "close the gap" with LifeSource, has made me want to continue to help them in any way.

While volunteering today at LifeSource, I was marking out barcodes on pallets of food. At first, I was very confused. Then once the director explained it to me, it made sense. She needed the barcodes scribbled out that way whenever those boxes of food are handed out to those in need, they cannot go and return them to a store to get money. Coloring over the barcode signals to the store that that item was a donation and cannot be returned. I did two pallets with another person volunteering, so it was nice to have someone there to talk to to help the time pass.
