About
Room in the Inn-Memphis works with faith communities throughout the Greater Memphis area to provide emergency shelter through the winter. The Carpenter's House is our base of operations. Beginning November 27, we will be open every Tuesday & Wednesday afternoon to provide a warm space for our guests to have coffee, find relief from the cold, and access bathroom facilities.
Volunteers help set-up, clean-up, serve coffee, and visit with our guests.
This listing is for that general hospitality. We will also have an activity room where small groups of volunteers can provide a specific, optional activity for our guests. If you are interested in serving in this way, please contact whitney@roomintheinn-memphis.org to discuss. Ideas include (but are not limited to): art and craft classes/open studio time, live music or music classes, group games, BINGO, book clubs, etc. What do you like to do? How can you share that with our guests? Let us know!

Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult unless previously approved by Room in the Inn staff.

The parking lot outside The Carpenter's House is a pay lot, owned and maintained by an outside company. There is also metered parking available on Exchange Street.
