About
Non-native plants make their way into Overton Park's Old Forest from surrounding homes and gardens, out-competing the native trees and wildflowers that our local wildlife need for food and shelter. Overton Park Conservancy spends each winter working to remove invasive plants so that the forest ecosystem can thrive. Help us out by participating in a weed wrangle with our lead invasive species volunteer, Bill Bullock. We'll be meeting each Saturday in February (except February 28--that event has been rescheduled to Sunday, March 1), and you can attend as many events as you like. The group will meet at the East Parkway Old Forest Gateway. Wear close-toed shoes and long pants and bring a water bottle. We'll provide the gloves and tools!
