| Team Max is a volunteer force organized in memory of Max Rose, who found the greatest joy in serving others. We welcome anyone who has the heart to serve those in need in our community. Last year over 400 volunteers delivered 1,200 "shelf-stable" meals to homebound seniors on Thanksgiving morning. As the need has grown, we hope to deliver 1,400 meals this year. Shelf-stable meals are food items for the pantry that seniors can have on hand. Many of these seniors are "food insecure" so these pantry items are extremely important to them. Team Max will deliver shelf-stable meals to 700 MIFA home-bound seniors on Thanksgiving morning. This is a great family or group service opportunity. Each team will have 6-8 deliveries. We need 100 teams. We will place you in a car if you don't have a team. Volunteers arrive at 8 a.m.Thanksgiving morning at MIFA on Vance. You will be given a Team Max t-shirt and a route with up to 8 meals. We will have a short program with instruction and inspiration. Once you have made your deliveries you may return home for your own Thanksgiving celebration! The smiles from the seniors will bless you and make your day more meaningful! Times: 8:00 a.m. – doors open; check-in; tee shirt pick-up; coffee 8:30 a.m. – program starts 9:30 a.m. – volunteers depart to deliver meals |
