About

The Richard Atkinson Speaker Series at the Clinton House Museum gives area residents the opportunity to learn about Arkansas culture, history, and politics from noted leaders in their fields.

Dr. John DuVal, "'Of History and Hope': Reflecting on Miller Williams' Inaugural Poem"
Miller Williams was a nationally renowned poet from Arkansas and the Poet Laureate during Bill Clinton's presidency.

In 1997 Arkansas's own Miller Williams delivered the inaugural poem "Of History and Hope" at the second inauguration of President Bill Clinton. In celebration of the twentieth anniversary of this inauguration, Dr. John DuVal, long-time friend and colleague of Williams, will discuss this poem as well as other poems that illustrate Williams' creative process.
