About
The City Hackathon is a 36-hour “sprint” event where we will gather 100 volunteers who want to lend their tech and creativity skills to develop solutions for civic challenges the City of Memphis has identified. This event will take place from November 15 - 17 at the University of Memphis FedEx Institute of Technology. Note this volunteer signup is just for those who want to work behind the scenes to help the event run smoothly. To register to join a Hackathon team for the weekend, please go to our Eventbrite page.
The three challenge areas the City has asked for new innovative ideas on are:
- Rethinking services & strategies to reduce neighborhood blight
- Rethinking services & strategies to improve transportation for workforce development programs
- Leveraging new capabilities like AI, high-speed fiber networks and Smart City technology to improve city services
