About
Memphis Transformed has partnered with Volunteer Odyssey and Choose901 to bring a fun and impactful challenge to each of you for this Earth Day weekend. With over a year in the pandemic, our litter production has grown by more than 200%. That means even more pollutants and trash are in our water systems, on our streets, and in our communities. We need your help, Memphis. We can reverse this trend together!
We’re using a new tool to help us reverse this trend - Litterati. The Litterati app will help us capture more litter pollution data, create better prevention strategies, and allow each of you to track your impact! Our goal is to remove 5,000 pieces of litter from our streets and neighborhoods. We need 100 do-gooders to pick up 50 pieces of litter while using the Litterati app. Memphis, we can do this! We’re giving away prizes to the Top 10 volunteers who accept this challenge!
How to participate?! We’re glad you asked…
1. Download the app and create a user profile
2. Join the #901LoveWhereYouLive Earth Day Challenge using the code: 901EARTH
3. Pick up as much litter as you can using the app and have fun while doing it! Oh and be sure to tag us in those beautiful selfies: @memphistransformed #901LoveWhereYouLive #MemphisTransformed
How do you win cool prizes?!
Using the data from the Litterati app, we will reward the Top 10 Contributors from the leader board so be sure to go for it! You have the entire weekend (4/22/22 - 4/24/22). Challenge yourself to pick up more than 50 pieces of litter. Each winner will receive a $25 gift card to one of our Project Green Fork-certified restaurants, some 901 swag (t-shirt or hat) courtesy of Choose901, and of course, the best gift ever, bragging rights! We will announce the winners via Instagram on Monday, April 25 at 12 PM CST. Be sure to follow @memphistransformed to stay connected!
Where to pick up litter?
1. Your own street - those storm drains can get a bit nasty!
2. Your local park
3. A high-traffic area near your home or work office
4. Some of our favorite parks like Overton Park Conservancy, Shelby Farms Park and the Greenline, or any of Memphis River Parks
