About

Holiday Wonders at the Garden is designed to give everyone in the family a chance to enjoy the winter weather and celebrate the holiday season with light displays and seasonal activities. There's always “snow” in My Big Backyard – even if Mother Nature didn't supply it – as well as interactive winter fun and games for families to enjoy. Families and friends gather around firepits on the patio, sipping hot cocoa and roasting marshmallows for s'mores. The Giant Light Bright, made completely of recycled materials, became one of the most popular engagement spots in Memphis last winter, and children could not get enough of the "faux snow" in the Snow Globe play tent.

Volunteers will help create a fun holiday environment! They will assist with scanning tickets, running activities, directing guests to where they need to go, and other tasks as needed. Volunteers will be fully trained prior to guests arriving! This will be a great way to spread some holiday cheer while also helping out! Festive clothes are welcome- just be sure to dress warmly as this event is outdoors!

Requirement Details

Please wear weather appropriate clothing. You may dress up in holiday attire but be sure to dress for the elements! The Garden Staff reserves the right to determine whether a volunteer's attire
and appearance are within the limits of decency, modesty, and safety.

If you need a verification of hours- please let us know before hand.

Expectations: Volunteers are required to complete all Hold Harmless agreements before participating in the volunteer event, including parent/guardian signatures for minors. Volunteers are also expected to comply to all Memphis Botanic Garden standards and staff/representative instructions. Failure to comply may result in removal from volunteer activity and non-verification of volunteer hours.
