My time at Room in the Inn really changed my perspective on how deeply food insecurity affects local families and their children. I stepped in to help with breakfast service, guest relations, and tidying up during a more relaxed, slower-paced shift. The calmer environment actually gave me a wonderful opportunity to connect with the families, and seeing so many grateful kids leave with a smile was the most rewarding part of the day. Providing that simple comfort of a warm meal was a truly grounding experience. It has completely strengthened my dedication to community outreach and made me eager to keep showing up for neighbors who need a helping hand.
