Volunteering today mainly consisted of pulling weeds from the various trees that they have on the farm. While weeding, we found 2 baby turtles, and we gave them some food to eat. At the end of the morning, we helped fill and label care packages that children receive when they come on field trips there. They get a bag with a menu and a vegetable so they can incorporate it at home for dinner!

We had a fun-filled, productive day today! We harvested tomatoes, then cut out all of the vines to get the field ready to plant something new. I also watered all of the plants and flowers throughout the farm and planted new flowers in the garden. We also got the opportunity to make our own bouquets with the leftover flowers that were going to be composted.

Today I watered all of the vegetables, planted lettuce and parsley, and gathered compost to put on top of two vegetable gardens. Some kids from an elementary school came for a field trip today, and it was so exciting to see them engaged and happy about the vegetables and to learn how to harvest them!
