Went and stocked shelves with food and visited with other volunteers. We got to open boxes and help others by making sure the shelves are stocked with food so families can come get food.
Volunteered at Katy Christian Ministries while at home and organized clothes. Katy Christian Ministries is a resell shop in my hometown that is paired with my church and they sell clothes to families who need more. I volunteered here over two days for 5 hours each.
Volunteered while at home and served meals for families at the Ballard house and visited with families. Did this for a week. And was there for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Had so much fun, serving this time! We stocked the pantry for families to come and pick their own food. I had so much fun, and working with the people were so sweet! We were told what to put on the shelves and where and we cut down boxes and did so much stuff. We helped clean out the freezer and fridge and restocked both of those. I loved getting to do this and make an impact on families.
Serving at the Compassion Center was such a cool opportunity. We first got there and got shown around and they told us a little about what they do and how they serve the families they help. We got to work and started stocking shelves with cans and all sorts of food they needed to fill up on their inventory. After that we got to make USDA bags, and families are able to get them if they are eligible. We also were told how the center works and how they help the families that come in.
I volunteered at a place by my house in Houston called the Ballard House and served them dinner. It's like a Ronald McDonald House. I served dinner and cleaned and made dinner, and visited with people! So much fun!
Volunteering at the after school program in Springdale, helping organizing and getting the kids together and planning activities.
