Perform Routine Maintenance on the Trail

VE Greenline is a very special place in Memphis, we should keep it as pretty as possible.

Cleaned up the triangle intersection at mclean & the greenline which borders on my yard. removed all the trash in the fence.

Helped rake leaves out of ditches & other maintenance as needed.

This way a great way to maintain a clean environment and I would do it again. The people and crew were great and provided food!

I served at the V&E Greenline. I learned a lot about nature during this project! I was cutting back different plants from the trail to prevent overgrowth. By doing this, the people who use the Greenline will be able to walk without having to navigate overgrowth and poison ivy. The man in charge explained the history behind the green line and how he does everything for it without being compensated. He is the president of everything Greenline and donates all his time and resources to making sure the Greenline is able to be enjoyed. Learning that this was a passion project makes my time there feel more fulfilling. Although the job was not the most glamorous, it was fun to do with friends. Working with a team helped make the work more efficient and fun! This event reinstated what I learned earlier this week that a positive attitude can go a long way in impacting the mood and work ethic of others. I would continue volunteering with this organization because I can see why volunteers are needed and how people want to continue to enjoy this path that Memphis has to offer.
